The Project

Event Base were approached to custom design and build a community based assessment centre for Alliance Health Plus/ South Seas Healthcare in conjunction with Counties Manukau Health .

This project was developed as a rapid deployment solution in response to an urgent community need for an accessible community centre to conduct medical assessments and testing in relation to the COVID-19 health crisis. 

The build was designed through consultation in five days, and installed within 48 hours (operational within 24 hours).  A key requirement for this hub was that it needed to be secure, engineered for durability and weather-tightness for medium to long-term use, ensuring that patients and staff would be provided with safe cover over winter. Additionally, it was also designed with scalability a consideration, allowing structures to be added to or reduced in response to changing requirements. 

The entire build was developed utilising Spacecube modular units, Truss and Stretch Systems, and Pacifica and goverment Covid-19 signage and branding. It includes separate contained spaces utilised as a triage assessment area, administration and medical consultation spaces, walk-in area, and double-lane drive-through testing area.
